Glebe Church Historical Committee

The Historical Committee at Glebe Episcopal Church plays a vital role in connecting the present-day congregation with nearly four centuries of local and colonial heritage.

The committee is dedicated to researching, documenting Glebe, and preserving the story of the church and its surrounding community. Glebe Church itself dates back to the 1600s roots of the parish, with the current building constructed in 1737-38, making it one of the oldest surviving churches in Virginia. Beause of this deep history, the committee's work is not just archival - it is stewardship of a living historical site.
